A couple of years ago, I ate lunch with a man and his wife from my old neighborhood in Maryland. Somehow our conversation turned to astronomy and in particular the Apollo missions. This man was convinced that the Moon missions were faked. I listened to him ramble on about how the movie, "Capricorn 1", was a true depiction of what happened during the space race. He asked me to prove to him that we went to the Moon without referring to the "faked" film footage. My answer to him was that I can't prove to him that we have gone to the Moon and back even once. Without all of the images taken back then I really had nothing to refer him to. I find people of such persuasion intriguing. Am I just gullible in accepting all the Moon Mission data at face value.
Now there is orbital imagery of The Apollo 12, 14, and 17 landing sites from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter or LRO. Check out the images at this NASA link.
